I've missed the Kazahana world so much. Would be great to see it active again, and a little more streamlined. Death of Formula, 471's Introduction, and The Singular Conspiracy are all absolute masterpieces, and I still find myself showing them to others quite often. (Singular Conspiracy's Part 2 was beautifully written, too. Momoshiro is one glorious weasel, and a role I dearly miss.)

While I'm still very intrigued to see where Dragon Burial goes, a little part of me wishes it were some kind of historical origin tale of the Kazahana legacy.

Personally, I would love to see the Kazahana story continue. A full reboot might not be completely necessary; Maybe if the unused characters and unfinished story arcs were cut, individually rebooted, or even finished/used by new writers and artists, it might be enough to get the series rolling again. After all, it'd be a shame to lose the projects that already exist.

I did find the deadline idea interesting too, by the way. It'd definitely give people some incentive to finish projects that they've already started rather than just letting them hang in creative limbo. Maybe something similar could be done with characters too, where if they're not used in at least one project after being created by a certain date, they're dropped?

I may have been a way for some time, but I seem to have come back when the time is right.

Kazahana has always been something I have enjoyed, and though I have had to put things on hold due to personal matters, I never really gave up on it. In fact I was looking forward to finishing up the projects I had started.

I would veryily love to submit them in.

Another one that just came to me: Leo Himura's No Exit.

This game was HUGELY popular at its release, heavily increasing traffic to the site for a brief period of time. Unfortunately, this huge influx of users never stuck around. It would be great to capitalize upon that potential with a more story-driven sequel, really making its players CARE and want to learn more about the Kazahana world, its characters, and its rules.

I just had a thought today, and decided to actually go through and start a Kazahana project, but after reading all of the guidelines again I think it'll go along the lines of alternate universe. I want to include silly stuff like time travelers and things. Would it still be okay to call it Kazahana since you guys are doing this reboot?

Also, uh, are Kazahana who aren't technically signed up for the FMB still targeted as if they were?

It's also only in Japan at this point, right?

If you`re doing the 'timetravel thing' and resort to the alternate universe for it (seems reasonable)
Then you can choose all other aspects as you please (after all you created an alternate universe)

As for how i recall the 'targeting': by default all Kazahana are detectable by KID (after all, it`s what the judges use to track down potential contestants)

Should a Kazahana decide not to participate they are set to undetectable by the judge that makes contact (and can no longer win)
However considering aspects like:
- 'the battle is to be kept secret' (i will not participate, so i don`t have to kill my brother, but will kill to make sure he will win, those 'non-competing Kazahana' will not be left to the cops for obvious reasons)
- 'Formula': just because a Kazahana doesn`t show up on the radar doesn`t mean they are not fighting the battle

Any Kazahana who wants to win (given the alternative most likely all of them)
may choose not to let you walk just because the KID doesn`t detect you.

Although it`s just my recollection and not my OK you`re looking for i`dd say:
-Alternate universe: all bets are off
-If the name is the only problem, it can be changed right? (from alternate universe kazahana to kazahana inspired is an easy step)
-Should it somehow result in this discussion going to something workable, i doubt anyone will complain

Thanks for clearing all that up! I know that creating an "alternate universe" means I can tweak it any which way, but I really just want to take and follow whatever Kazahana rules are up right now, and sort of exploit a couple of the small, nitpicky little loopholes. Not sure if I should still stick a Kazahana label on it, or just put the "inspired by" bit on instead. I'll work it out later, get the approval from Max or Steve (whichever comes first). Thanks again for the help!

I'm looking to continue some of my works but now I am not sure if any of them (and what was previously submitted) would fit into the new guidelines.

When this gets rolling again I would love to actually take part and help out with animation.

I've always wanted to collab/work with you guys for a while now and Kazahana was always epic. I've been swamped writing wise with certain things so I'd probably be of more use now as an animator lol.
